jabbers

So a few weeks back, my little man turned 16 months.  I know this is probably the most cliche thing ever, but seriously, where has the time gone?!
I REALLY love this age.  Like my friend Abigail, I'm not so much a baby person as I am an older kid person.  Don't get me wrong, babies are great, but I love seeing their personalities come out.  And it's really cool when they learn to walk:)
Yes, there are tantrums and big man poops (yes, I have a big eater which =big poops) and training issues along the way with a toddler.  But there are so many wonderful and fun things about this age!
For instance, he's getting everything.  Like I say, "ready to eat?" and he signs "eat" and runs to his high chair.  I say, "want to go outside?" and he runs to the back door, grabs his shoes, and holds them high in the air.
Perhaps my favorite thing though is his words.  He has said a few words for a while. But the last few months have been a language explosion! We often talk about putting on our "socks" and "jackets". We talk about "shapes" and our "firetruck." Every day, something new.
I have sung "Jesus Loves Me" to B while snuggling him before every nap since he was born.  Now, I sing the last line but pause before the last word so he can proclaim a very pronounced, "So!!"
A while back, Trent was feeding B dinner and listening to Third Day when B said, "Jesus!" (It sounded more like "Dee-duss") Sadly, I was getting my oil changed in my car and not home.  But I beamed when Trent texted me. I guess all the singing before naps and Third Day at supper made it stick.  It made this mom proud.

new territory

So...blogging. Here we go! Over the last few years, I've enjoyed reading various blogs.  I can't tell you the plethora of wonderfulness I've acquired from the blogging world! My goal is to share what's going on in my life to friends and family as well as a few fun posts thrown in as well.
As many of you already know, we are a military family so that's an adventure in and of itself!  We enjoy living healthy and active lifestyles as well as learning to minister to others out of the gifts, blessings, circumstances and challenges God has given us.  We have seen God's Word play out in our lives in so many ways, so I hope to effectively communicate that as well.

Some things to note:

1. I am not a writer nor claim to be.  I have a science/medical background, and I'm from the South.  So, yeah...I write the way I talk.  If you see spelling or grammatical errors, please judge me in your mind and move on;)

2. I only plan on blogging when I have something to say.  I've read blog posts from others in the past that started with, "I'm not sure what to write about today..." Why blog then? Not doing it here.

Thanks for stopping in!:)
